Where are you from?
The small town in North Dakota with the largest catfish in the world.  Go ahead – Mapquest that!

When did you first get into music?
I still remember my dad setting up a s
nare drum and hi-hat on a Saturday morning for me when I was about five.  And what band did he put on the turn-table for me to rock to?  Bon Jovi (Tico Torres)!

How many years have you been playing in bands?
Carry the two would make it 8 years.

Who are your favorite bands?
John Mayer, Jonny Lang, Keith Urban,  Jamie Cullum, Michael Buble, O.A.R. , The Fray, Jack Johnson, Tommy Emmanuel,  The Police, Frank Sinatra, Coldplay, Fall Out Boy, Maroon 5, Matchbox 20…(should I keep on going, I think so J)…Ari Hest,  Damien Rice,  David Gray, Amos Lee,  Norah Jones, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Collective Soul,  Goo Goo Dolls, Jason Mraz…OK I’m tired now, but you get the general idea right!?!?!

What do you like best about being in Fat Daddys?
The greatest thing is the drummer is my dad, how cool is that! Get to hang out with the ole’ man every weekend is the best college job a kid could have. The singer is my life mentor, thanks for all the direction – I’ll never forget our talks.  And my best friend since grade school is the bass player.  I couldn’t imagine a better band chemistry. The fans and dancers always make it worthwhile too, seeing how to, or not to, dance in a public place.

What is your favorite “on the road” food?
Microwavable spaghetti and meat balls, Chuckwagon sandwiches, an ice cold Coke, plus anything with calories.

What is your most memorable band moment?
Arena rock in Clearbrook MN.  First of all you know it’s gonna be a good night when the electrician says to you in a hillbilly accent, “You mae jes wanna moov dem geetars back some, udderwise they’ll get trampled like last weeks meatloaf!”  Here we are the largest, most deafening crowd we’ve ever played to as our PA starts to blow.  We played the entire second half of the night with ONE top PA speaker.  The amazing thing was people didn’t care – we cranked our on stage amps and monitors and people only kept on flooding the stage.  It seriously felt like we were the Beatles coming to the US – because I know exactly what that feels like…what!?!?
